Hi, I have 7 children, and whilst 2 of them are at high school, and my husband uses his car for work, when we are all going out, we use the family vehicle, which is a minibus.
This works great, as it seats us all, and I can still get the pram, the dog and the various bits of paraphernalia the children bring with them, not to mention hubby's golf sticks!
But insurance cover is a nightmare. Only specialist minibus insurers will touch us, and they are SOOOO expensive.
Can anyone recommend an insurer that will consider us as a private and domestic use vehicle, rather than being forced to take out commercial cover?
Cheers
Karen

I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

I think this is a question best answered by a good motor insurance broker, as they should know what companies will do.
I will ask a friend of mine who's an insurance broker if nobody else comes up with an answer before that.

Hi - Most insurance compamies assume for minibuses that they are on the road 24hrs a day crammed with passengers.A broker with a more enlightened attitude is Access Underwriting who specialize in charities and other groups who want to insure minibuses for normal use and not for hire/reward.Give them a try and I hope they can help.0
