Thanks for all your advice. I contacted the Flight centre and they found me a good deal, £500 for flight to Vancouver and then phoned back and said when they had gone into book them the price was £599!!!!!!!! None too pleased to say the least.....

Why did you contact the Flight Centre if you were enquiring about Canadian Affair?

Why not go directly to Canadian Affair website?

You have Internet, so why were you calling anyway?

:(We contacted the flight centre as they quoted a cheaper price! I do not understand why when we completed their forms, gave them my debit card number and they reserved the funds they did not stick to their original price? How could this have gone up whilst I was completing their online form. Do I now have any grounds on which to ask them for the difference in the flight prices when everything was completed in the time limits they gave us?

Have you checked skyscanner.net to see if the £599 is still a reasonable fare? It doesn't sound that bad to me for such a long flight.

No contract was formed. So no grounds.
If the original price is the same at Canadian Affair, you have lost nothing.

As I had "signed" and accepted their form online, surely this counts as a contract? I know it is still a good price, that is not the issue here. I stil fail to see how the price could suddenly be there one minute and gone the next when they had accepted my "contract" and reserved the funds in my bank account.

Just a brief update on our recent Air transat flight.

Not long got back from our trip to Canada and USA, using Air Transat

After reading air Transat website it states all their Airbus 330-200 and 300,s have all had a cabin refurbish, these are the planes they use for the Atlantic crossing.

Upon getting on the plane, we did indeed notice the new cabin, TV’s in backs of seats, with full individual selection of movies, music, etc, even a USB charge port iPods, even seemed more leg room with the re-designed seats, very comfy seats also , with adjustable head rests, I must say it was a amazing,

This made our flight a real pleasure.

On the way home it was a different story, the Airbus 330 for the return trip was still the old cabin interior, hard old seats, tighter leg room, and an old CRT TV on the ceiling every so often, but the one nearest us didn’t work.

When I asked the flight attended , “ oh we still have a few that were not refurbished)

So if your expecting a nice new cabin refurbish on your flight , don’t get to excited as there are still some planes in the Air Transat fleet that have not been refurbished , contrary to their website !!

Oh also , we were delayed 1 hour , the pilot announced we were waiting for an engineer, me being a nervous flyer was even more nervous now.

It turned out to be a engineer for the hot water heater, as soon after it was announced that there will be no tea or coffee on this flight at all !!!

We still had a safe flight home , at a very reasonable price.
