As previously asked- can you justify the hours you have claimed?0

That's one positive, although I could understand if the client was not happy with you discussing his business/ working on company data etc in public. They may not have a problem with it, but it would be good practice (good manners) to ask first.0 -
I agree with Takeaway Addict (and the others).
If you are working 9am to 3.30 pm that is 6 1/2 hours a day , meaning 32 1/2 hrs a week , you are therefore claiming payment for 5 hours a week that you have not worked.
The client could claim that you fraudulently recording your hours AND fraudulently claiming wages for the hours not worked.
As Takeaway has said, as you have less than 2 years service you are entitled to virtually no protection.
I would be looking for a new job and asking that this transgression not be recorded on any future reference you ask for.0 -

I am a consultant and my hours are 9:30 - 17:30 and I commute 2 hrs by train every day each way and I get there for 09:30 and leave at 17:30. As I work in IT I get called at all hours outside these times as I am in a support function and we are a 24hr broadcasting company. I also never take my full lunch hour and work through but I am still always there between the stipulated times of the contract, as I think you should be.
Your best bet is to go into the meeting and state that you were unaware this was unacceptable and that you precedessor handed over that as long as all tasks were completed and you were contactable it was fine. Also explain tht you thought the client was fine with it, give examples if you have any and that there was no malice in this and now you are aware will conform tot he contracted hours.0 -
I would suspect that the client is paying for 37.5 hrs and thinks they are being ripped off if you are not on site for this time.0

Do you have proof of emails etc during hours off site. take thrn with you to the meeting as proof you are working outside the office.I don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.

It sounds like they have a pretty good case against you, and of course they can sack you for no reason at all anyway. I'd be looking for a way to leave and not have that black mark on your record, although it might be that the best you could hope for is a neutral reference that doesn't say much more than the dates you were employed. You might also want to think about what reason you'll give for looking for a new job so soon - perhaps the travelling time, although obviously that won't work if you have to travel as far to a new employer.0

It seems from what you all have mentioned, my chances of getting dismissed are high.
Although its an investigation tomorrow can they act on the decision tomorrow and what is the minimum notice they must give me?
How do I go about requesting they do not put a mark against my name?
In all honesty when the the retiree handed over to me the job he mentioned to me about how quiet the office was, and just to make sure you keep on top of the office, do what your asked and all would be fine.
Clearly hi's advise was from the way the previous company worked and this company, although no one has once directly said to me make sure you are seated between 9-5pm, wanted me present/visible at all times....
If I had a prompt I would have given in my notice while looking for a new job if I knew all this...
My last 4 jobs, all allowed an element of flexibility as long as the job got done...
Oh and on a daily basis I had to daily in to a conference call which I maintained at least 4 days a week with a few odd days missed due to customers.
I also spoke daily to the team/team leader finding out about solutions and general work related convos...0
