My friend has an I Mac and is worried about doing online banking with this threat possibly happening in a couple of weeks.
She just has Apple security. Does she need to download anything else?
Many thanks for any replies.

Thank you.
Her main worry is online banking with Nat West. Will this be enough?0 -
Doesn't NatWest use one of those card readers that requires the account holder to key their PIN into and get a unique code back to enter in the site every time they use it?
If so, that is intended to prevent anything that gets the account details from logging in. Backed up with the Sophos already suggested, she'd be fairly well protected.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. Is your friend using Windows on her iMac? If not, why is she panicking, the virus that has been temporarily halted is a Windows trojan AFAIK and won't affect OS X.
Also, if you don't already have the virus and don't get it, nothing is magically going to infiltrate your computer just because whatever interferance law enforcement has done will be worked around in a few weeks. Anyone who wasn't affected when the virus was working as normal won't suddenly be affected now, apart from knowing it exists.0
