Tesco scan and shop - loose vegetables and fruit

Just wanted to put a warning out there, if you're buying loose fruit and veg via the hand scanner thing where you print a label, print one out for one item if it's on offer.

For example 4 lemons for £1, if you just tell the label weigh thing it's 4 lemons it will charge £1.20; conversely if you say 1 lemon and then scan it four times you'll get the offer price.

    Thanks.

That could save a few minutes of head scratching the first time I want to do that.

Loose items such as lemons, garlic, pepper, anything that is sold by unit not weight, have a barcode next to them on the shelf, you just scan the barcode for each item you pick up, no need to go to the scales and print a label.

Not at my tesco peachy price, both our local smaller Tesco and larger Extra store have had these machines installed in last year. :) I mean the scales with printer.

I know what scales you mean. They should have the barcodes, next time ask them where they are. :)

Sometimes I can be so stupid!

For the first time since the system was installed I wanted to buy some single item from the bakery section and assumed I'd need to get a assistant to enter the details at the checkout - it never occurred to me to scan the barcode on the shelf. rolleyes.gif

They're special ones, not the price label ones, they look like this
