Scottish sequestration and credit scoring

Options
Hi There

New to the forums and needing a bit of help.

In 2011 my wife became ill and I lost my job because of it, I was due inheritance of roughly £30,000 and was told that it would be sorted quickly, however I had around £6000 of debt which I could not afford to pay back and as the inheritance was taking too long I was advised by the local citizen's advice bureau to go into sequestration.

KPMG placed me in a 1 year sequestration and armed with all the information regarding the inheritance said that everything would be ok as my inheritance would pay off my creditors and their fees without any problems.

I was discharged in August 2012 and although I didn't actually receive my inheritance until last March it was not a problem to them and all debts were cleared, and here is where my problem starts.

I am trying to move with my family down to England for work and the letting agents will not accept me after checking my credit score, I am up on all three credit scoring companies as registered Bankrupt, for me to move for work I need to be able to pay 6 months rent up front otherwise we are stuck.

Is my situation any different to a normal bankruptcy in that all debts were paid off in full, is there any way that I can send details to these companies and explain the situation that I was in at the time and if so would they review the score or do all bankruptcies get the same score.

I'm not sure but can you not apply for an annulment which would wipe the bankruptcy from your credit file? I would ask advice from CAB or your IP.
