Being a total luddite here but we recently upgraded our system at work and on the advice of our IT guys purchased
3 x HP 1 TB 6G SATA 7.2K rpm SFF (2.5‐inch) SC Midline 1 year Warranty Hard Drive
which I believed was extra memory to go on to our new PC's
er.. is this right or have I got confuddled?:o
Also if this is extra memory how can I check if it was installed ?
Thanks P3

That sounds like a new small form factor (SFF) computer with a 1TB 7200 rpm 2.5" hard disc and 6GB of RAM (memory).

It's a small hard drive, not memory. SFF = "smaller box". My PC's an SFF (size of a cornflake packet, bought in 2006)0

Oh. Is the 6G relating to data throughput or something?0

It's a hard drive. Why would anyone think that was
- Memory
- A computer

So if its a hard drive it should have been installed on the PC's?
This is we were led to believe that we were getting a fairly decent spec PC's, but I and other are finding them really sluggish and I'm not sure how to check we got what we paid for.

When it comes to the internal gubbings on computer, on the whole I don't give a toss a long as it works but they aren't working properly.0 -

It says HARD DRIVE on the end of what you posted though, that was what gave me the clue. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

Ok that makes a bit more sense thanks.
Its just the person that ordered it all has left rather sharpish and under a cloud and the boss has asked me to look into it and while I can work a computer I have no idea how they work, if you know what I mean.0
