Hi,
I'm a freelance journalist and I've been given permission to post on MSE asking for people to help with a story I'm working on. You can see my name on the Companies/organisations/journalists with permission to post list.
Today, I need case studies for national magazine (Moneywise) feature to talk about their best and worst financial decisions.
You need to be willing to appear in print with their photograph.
Looking for really interesting, topical cases, for example:
Best financial decision...
- investing in Royal Mail shares
- getting a cheap tracker mortgage
- using MSE to get out of debt
Worst financial decision
- investing in bank stocks before the credit crunch
- putting money in Icesave
Stuff like that.
Please email me today with details of who you are and what your decision was. my email is donna.freelancer+media@gmail.com
Alternatively, you can follow me on Twitter: @DonnaLFerguson
Thanks
Donna

It is interesting you listed "Icesave" under "worst financial decisions" considering everybody got their money back, and for those of us with fixed term accounts we continued to be paid the full interest for the full term which was way above anything available else post-crash.
Admittedly I had a sleepless night before the government confirmed everybodys savings would be protected, but it turned out well.0 -

Worst financial decisions,
Not switching on to value and investment 25 years ago.
Getting involved with a commission hungry financial adviser.
Best financial decisions,
Getting involved with a competent financial adviser who helped to fix the wreckage.
MSE and starting to learn a little more about money, finance and DIY investment.'We don't need to be smarter than the rest; we need to be more disciplined than the rest.' - WB0 -
Best, best, best ever decision, starting with peps in the early 90s, and investing most years, most to the max, with only small sidetracks into cash isas (since transferred to funds), everything still accumulated.
Worst ever? not selling Northern Rock before they went bust. They were free so suppose no different to before I had them, but sure different to them at their peak! :rotfl:

Yes, I had the same thing with kaupthing, top rates paid and money refunded/ guaranteed so arguably the best sort of 'investment'.0 -
Best investment was most definitely spending the £10 to apply to Oxford, against the advice of my teachers (who were adamant that they did not accept people from schools such as ours).
Worst was holding on to the seven figure holding of bank stock which I was paid in 2007, and losing 95% of everything I'd accumulated.0 -
