Trouble getting my £2 statutory report

Having had my credit card for santander turned down today (despite them giving me a mortgage four months ago....maybe the short time I new address scuppers things)I thought I'd check my credit score.
I tried experian first for my £2 report but it said there was an issue and wouldn't let me proceed. I the tried equifax but as I'd used them before it just let me log in and the only option available was my full report at £15! Hopefully these don't count on my credit file as it never actually let me view my report!
Is this a common issue with the companies stopping you getting your £2 report? Just seems I being forced to cough up for the full report.
I then applied for sainsburys credit card online as I've had one before and hopefully as I have a loan with them I'll stand good chance of being accepted.

You can always order your £2 reports from each by post.
With experian if you have not used them before then they may struggle to identify you (particularly people not on the electoral roll) and so you sometimes need to revert to post.
With equifax it should have given you the option for the £2 report - can you get this if you try using a different email address to the one you used for the free trial in the past.Hopefully these don't count on my credit file as it never actually let me view my report!A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

Do you mean hopefully you won't be charged? if you didn't get a copy of your file you won't be charged.
A very helpful reply many thanks! I'll try using my other email address to see if that helps0 -

Sometimes when ordering your statutory report from Experian, it shows an error. Then in a few days a letter will turn up in the post with a pass key. Keep an eye on your bank statement to make sure you've not been double charged etc.Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.
ALWAYS HAVE A DIRECT DEBIT SET UP FOR THE MINIMUM PAYMENT ON YOUR CREDIT CARDS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU PLAN TO LOGIN AND PAY EACH MONTH.0
