what if you cant remember?

Hi there.
I'm 31 and in my younger years, when I was 18-22 banks and credit card companies threw money a me. I have a loan from my bank, a credit card with Mint and a Comet store card.

Now my bank and Mint I'm pretty sure are still afloat, but things like the Comet Store card, I know I was paying some kind of PPI on that, and being young I didn't bother paying it off for about 6 years. I have no paperwork about this card, I don't know if it was Comet its self or a 3rd party. Now they have gone under.... what are my chances?

Comet no longer trades, as you say, but the problem is also that if you purchased the PPI on this store card prior to January 2005 then this was pre-regulation and so no one will have to even consider any mis-selling complaint you might make.

Nothing ventured gained, you might loose SAR £10 fee but it might be worth it. I'm taking my chances as well, down £30 but who knows . . . .

Who would you send the SAR to in the OP's case? Any complaint won't even have to be considered pre 2005.
