Survey report

I'm having real difficulties getting hold of the home buyers report which we've commissioned on the property that we're buying. The survey was done on 28 June and the report was sent to the mortgage company shortly afterwards, but not to us. I've made half a dozen calls to the surveyors office since then, and they keep promising that they will post it out first class to me that evening, or email it to me as soon as they put the phone down, but they keep failing to do so. I've also asked the mortgage broker whether he can get me a copy from the mortgage company direct, but no joy!
Any ideas what to do! We've paid the fee and signed all the relevant forms so can't think of any reason whatsoever why they wouldn't want to release it, and if it was just a paperwork problem surely someone would just tell me what it is they need.

Did you definately pay for a Homebuyers report? If it's just a mortgage valuation, lenders often don't send them out to buyer, but even a call in to the mortgage broker should sort that out.
Can you try and contact the surveyor directly? Ask your solicitor to contact the mortgage comonay? Ask your broker AGAIN to contact the mortgage company?
Go to the surveyor's office and sit there?! That will work!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Or, if they've offered to email it 'as soon as they put the phone down' ask if they can email it while you actually wait on the phone - tell them you are sitting at your computer and are happy to wait on the phone for a minute or two while you wait for the email to come through.0

If it is actually a homebuyer's report & not just the valuation report as Doozer says, this is what I'd do & did when I had a similar problem with a surveyor a few years ago & was waiting weeks for my homebuyers report.
I'd make a strong complaint to the mortgage lender regarding the disgraceful service from a surveyor on their panel & suggest they be removed due to sheer inefficiency & inability to cope with the level of work they are taking on. I'd also notify the surveyor of your intention to do this.
When I made my official written complaint to mortgage lender, they contacted surveyors office straight away & my report, still awaiting typing up after 3 weeks, was then speedily typed up & posted to me.
Remember that the valuation report the lender has is different to the one provided to you for a homebuyer's, so just because lender has their valuation, it doesn't mean that your homebuyers has actually been processed yet & could well be at the bottom of a pile, waiting it's turn to be typed. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
If you've commissioned the Homebuyers report then it is for you and not the mortgage company and the report should be sent to you not them. After all, you're paying for it. Are you sure you didn't just pay for a valuation which would be for the mortgage lender?0

Absolutely positive we paid the homebuyer's fee (about £700 as opposed to about £300 for a valuation). The latest news is that the broker has spoken to them and they have said (again) that it is in the post. Shall wait and see!0
