how long to clear payment halifax?

Hi, new to the forum.

Yesterday I paid off my Halifax clarity card (£1029) from my halifax current account via the 'pay credit card' button on the website. The money has gone from my current account but the credit card still hasn't cleared. How long should it take? I would like to use it again soonish and the limit isn't very large, so I need to clear it first.

Anyone now how long it should take. I'm currently in Spain so don't fancy calling them just yet.

Thanks in advance

I'm not with Halifax but I find it usually takes about 48 hours to show up.

With my bank, payments out show online as soon as I set them up even though if it is set up in an evening it will be dated the next working day - so if you did it yesterday, it will probably not have been processed until this morning. I would expect to see it show up against your credit card either tomorrow or Wednesday, but as I say, I'm basing it on my own bank, not Halifax.

It usually takes about a day to show on your account but if your credit limit is back to the normal amount allowed then it should be ok to carry on using your card.

OK thanks for that. I thought it would be quicker. Oh well. It's called a faster payment as well. I wonder how long the slow payments take.

When I was a Halifax MasterCard customer I typically found Faster Payments were listed on the Online Servicing section after 10pm during the week.

I find that my credit limit is restored straight away when I use the 'pay card' button - although the actual amount doesn't show as a credit for a day or two.
Never argue with an idiot. Especially not this idiot because I'm always right anyway.
