What is CPP?!

Recently, my partner discovered he has been paying £40 a month for CPP and neither of us are exactly sure what it is or how he has ended up with it, only that its card protection insurance and that it's definatley not needed. After tracking down the company it's been paid to he tried to cancel, only to be told that he had to pay until April 2015 as per his contract (which he didn't know he had). We are both totally lost here. Any advice on how to stop paying now and if we can get this money back. I think not knowing you had it falls into the 'mis-sold' catogory!

No, it's a myth sponsored by claim companies that insurance is added without the knowledge and permission of the customer. It's far more likely that it's been agreed to (perhaps by telephone) and then forgotten about.BriggsyBear wrote: »I think not knowing you had it falls into the 'mis-sold' catogory!
How did your husband "discover" that he has a "contract"? Have you requested information as to the circumstances surrounding this insurance being purchased? Why have you not queried £40 a month going to this company if you did not know what it was for?0
