Blue Badge Renewal

Hi All,
Just a quick question regarding blue badges. My daughter's badge expires in November this year and I fully expect her to be issued another one. Do we apply before it expires, do they send out a form?
This is our first blue badge, so unsure how reapplying works.
Many thanks.

Hello

my recent renewal was my first too - my council doesn't have 'renewal' forms so I was advised to just print off and fill in the original form as if I were applying for my first badge again. You can also ring and request a form be sent to you. I was advised they are not sent out automatically - the council do not know if your daughter will still be eligible
I'd start by looking on your local council website and see what it says, I think all councils do it differently, some charge for example, mine doesn't.
As I'm sure you know you cannot renew without a renewed award letter, but I had mine way before as the DLA were very quick, so I took my form in about 5 weeks before the badge was due to expire.
Hope this helps a little

No renewal forms or reminders! Make sure you gave it in the diary and apply 6-8 weeks before for safety. You will get tickets/fines if you park using an expired badge.
As moochie says, check with your local council who deal with the eligibility checking process. Badges are however issued centrally now in an effort to reduce fraud, so they take longer than they used to.0 -
You just have to fill the form in again, my last one took about 4 weeks to come; some are taking longer so do it at least 6 weeks before it expires.0
