ok prob sounds a bit mad, but have handmade fitted wardrobes/dressing talbe with lighting all along one wall of our bedroom (i hate them) but cant afford to rip out and replace yet, they were painted on the outside when we moved in (they're about 30 years old) we painted over them to tart them up a bit, but i noticed yesterday when i pulled something out how musty they are inside, we've cleaned them out before, the inside is just wood (think hardwood?) would it be ok to paint the insides of them? the paint you buy now never smells like it did 'in the olden days' so was thinking it would be ok? and if so what kind of paint would be best?
totally a tog!:D

For the insides you could use a silk emulsion if you primed the wood first. Silk emulsion is more hardwearing than matt for such a job as wardrobe interiors.
Eggshell paint always gives a good finish on woodwork, as does Satinwood, but more costly than using emulsion, which you can always pick up cheaply, especially in white or magnolia. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0
