thank you Farway as you can see from my post above I thought they flowered every 2 years rather than dying off - whoops think I might have lost some of the colours I had as I was cutting them down to stop getting more not realising I was stopping the process.0

They will eventually hybridise, so you will get mixed colours, mostly purple with the odd white or cream one chucked in, all pot luck, which IMO makes it more natural & interesting, and of course the bees love themWhen an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray0 -
Not quite true, foxgloves are biennial, grow in year one, flower in year two, seed, and die. They do not flower every other other year, they die in year two after flowering & setting seed
Not quite true or predictable.
We planted four foxgloves this year, and so far two of them have flowered.
Like everything in gardening, nothing is totally predictable.0
