Hello,
Could someone please advise me with regards to working tax credits. I filled out the online form and also the form and was awarded £210 a month. I took time off and didnt work from oct 2012 - nov 2013 I filled out the form and let them know how much I earned for apr 2013 - apr 2014 which was £6000 and how much I will earn a year now im working.
Will I end up having to just pay all this back in apr 2015 I dont really understand why im due this money I thought it would be maybe £50 a month I earn £15500 a year before tax etc and work 35 hours a week I double checked I was as acurate as possible with everything I havent lied on the forms but the amount seems rather high.
Thanks in advance
Shane

Hi,
Its not a claim form its like the one on the forums here its a calculator you complete that and then ring to get a form which I did then sent it off. the calculator suggested I was due roughly what they have awarded me but i assumed it was a mistake.
I dont claim any other benifit of any type it was a friend who suggested claiming working tax credits.
Yes thats correct with the amount I earn.
Thanks for taking the time to reply:]0 -
Are you sure it doesnt have a section ?I seem to recall a part which asks the amount per year along with employer tax number and payroll number etc0

ah ok I will ring after work tonight I dont want to find myself with a nasty bill next year:] thanks again for your help0

I remember other threads that you had. I couldn't advise you on the nightmarish problems you were having with the Insurance issue, but just wanted to say how sorry I was for your loss.
As you own 2 or more properties in NI, I wouldn't have thought you would be eligible for WTC ?0 -
Hi Thanks for your kind message the insurance situation is indeed a annoyance to say the least:]
ah yes I used to own two little terrace houses what happened there is a long story needless to say I sold them invested the money in a friends business idea which has since gone well and truly bust I didnt recieve a penny from the business but im down £48 grand from the money I invested.
I guess my message would be dont invest money when your not the right frame of mind like I was as you dont tend to make the best descisions:]
and with the WTC I didnt expect to get much atall which is why i was shocked to recieve the letter saying how much it will be hopefully I can get it all resolved so theres no confusion0 -
But if not working Oct 12 - Nov 13, how can they be entitled to WTC?0

Are you still friends ?
I know of a couple of friends that started in business together...unfortunately, as the business flourished, their friendship started to show signs of falling apart as they each wanted to take it in different directions. Expanding a fledgling but profitable enterprise too quickly can be disastrous both financially and personally.
Best of luck to you in the future x0 -
wierdly we are still friends he just buried his head in the sand and I should of been on top if it more but was a silent partner but never again:]0

Thank you - that'll teach me to confine my comments to areas I actually know something about!:D0
