Hi, I'm new and very worried about a CCJ that I have wrongly received by ParkingEye Ltd.
I travelled from Scotland to Birmingham for a meeting in October 2013, and used free parking at the hotel car park as part of my booking decision. However around a month later, I received a letter from ParkingEye stating that I had illegally parked. I ignored the letter because I had heard of scams like this before and thought nothing of it. However, after returning from holiday in March, I received a CCJ from Northhampton Crown Court issuing me with a CCJ - I thought it was a joke, and I also noticed that my 14 days response time was up. I called both the hotel and ParkingEye who could do nothing. I sent further information to ParkingEye with my booking confirmation but they say that the matter is now with the courts and I must pay up. The fact is I was allowed to park there as a guest of the hotel, so why should I suffer this distress and hardship. My room for 2 nights was only £130 - they want £165!!!!
Surely I can get the Court to drop this? A 6 year black my on my credit rating is a major issue for me - as I am sure it is for others.

Being new is no excuse for missing a dedicated forum by a mile - After all, you just agreed you had read and understood a full guide to the use and structure of the boards.
You need to have a read of the Newbies Sticky in the Parking Tickets Subforum of Motoring, or simply repost there and you will get good advice.
If you are based/resident in Scotland, pay particular attention to the dedicated advice but if you have a default judgment, there may well be ways to have this set aside.0
