Thermostatic shower or the cheaper one?

Hello
I am moving in the rented flat and they do not have shower. I am not sure yet if I stay there after 6 months is up. I was looking to get tap shower mixer but I learnt that I could choose a thermostatic one and they are more expensive. I have two year old just in case it is important. I found the non thermostatic one on Ebay for 27 and honestly I am very tempted to get that one as the price but would like professional (experienced) opinion first. Thank you

thermostatic is always best, but if you are only staying for 6 months is it worth it ?
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

Thermostatic is the best as SCRGI says. If you are running it off a combi, if anyone else runs any water in the house, at least it will only be a drop in pressure that effects the shower user. If you do it with a normal one, you get either an ice bath, or boiled alive.

Have a Grohe Therm shower here and it is great. Same as in a lot of hotels I stay in. You can get cheap ones, look around.
  • You could always remove the existing bath taps and fit a thermostatically controlled mixer...something like http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/THERMOSTATIC-BATH-SHOWER-MIXER-TAP-CHROME-PILLAR-TAPS-TYPE-5-YEAR-GUARANTEE-/231166531104?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Bathroom_Taps_PP&hash=item35d2995620
Thermostatic mixers are a lot better at controlling water temperature & preventing scalding.
Just make sure you keep the existing taps and refit them when you leave. If you don't need the mixer at your next place, you could always sell it on ebay
