A Question for Landlords

Bristol is likely to go for over asking price at the moment.0

That clause has been challenged many times and is usually unenforceable.
BECAUSE the contract between the letting agent and landlord is simply for letting the property, agents have tried this for years, they don't get away with it today.0 -
We asked and the landlord said no. It was no problem, we moved out and found a house that in hindsight has been much better for us - we got comfortable there and couldn't see beyond it. Our landlord was a very decent guy and was brilliant right up until we left, even though asking to buy the house was a sign that we were likely to leave.0

UPDATE
Well it seems we won't be able to ask our LL if he would consider selling to us as we were VERY wrong estimating the price of the house! A house 2 doors down is for sale at a whopping 209k!!!
When we saw the board, we hazarded a guess at somewhere between 170 & 185k depending on the condition - how wrong we were!
So our 'cheeky' offer might have been seen as really quite insulting - oops
You should be looking on rightmove or zoopla to see what prices properties nearby have sold for, although if it is a rapidly rising market bear in mind that those sold prices will be a few months out of date.0
