Has anyone had any dealings with this company. To give you a bit of background I discovered my MIL & FIL have not had a service on there gas system for some years, I recommended getting Shield Homecare which I have found invaluable and has saved me a lot of money and get a yearly service. Discovered they had boiler cover for £12:99pm with this company no annual service. Looked at there bank statements and they were taking 4 direct debits out total of nearly £50, boiler cover, sky dish cover, electrical appliances and 1 other. Now these policies are not worth the paper they are written on they have a lot of this with there bank account.
Also discovered there paying Sky £80 per year for the same cover I've cancelled them all. I also know I told them to cancel another sky dish insurance last year. Upon phoning this company they told me what it was all for without asking my MIL to identify herself so against data protection rules straight away. I said I felt she had been taken advantage of as all of these had been set up within the last 6-12 months and already had cover and they were with nothing at this point they got quite irate and said all calls were recorded I asked where I could get a copy address in on the letter and they hung up. Before anyone asks I was very polite.
One other thing my MIL is suffering from Alzheimers (which I told the company) and is in no way capable of making these kinds of decisions. Im now in the process of getting everything into my FIL name and my hubby & BIL already have power of attorney which we are now going to register with the bank.
Im just so annoyed as she's obviously on the sucker list and they have sold all this insurance that they don't need. My fear is they will call her as I've cancelled the DD's and set them back up again. If anyone has had dealings with them please let me know what they are like.

You need to be careful here. Just cancelling DD's does not cancel the policies; all you will do is put her in arrears and you could cause more problems than you are trying to solve! You should cancel the policies properly to avoid added and unnecessary complications....All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.0
