Fridge with water dispenser

Hello,
Prepare yourself for another stupid question.....
I'm looking at buying a fridge with a water dispenser, from an auction site. I've never had one of these before but wondered if someone who had could help.
This fridge is described as "storing water". Does this mean that you physically fill it up with water yourself or does it need to be plumbed in in some way to the mains water supply?
If the latter I probably won't bother with it as this would mean getting a plumber in.
Many thanks in advance.
Regards,

I haven't got one myslf but I think they have to be plumbed in.0

It all depends on the sort it is. I used to have one which had a water tank inside the fridge door and now i have one which is plumbed to the mains.0

Not a stupid Q - it confused me at first, till we got our Samsung (lots stuff here) http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=227697
This WAS plumbed in. Had to leave it at last house, when we moved.
We now have a smaller fridge & use a Brita filter, not fixed, just a jug. The thing we notice is the tainting of taste, if it's not changed every bay. You know if you haven't emptied & refilled too.
So you might like to think of that, 'cos if you either use small amounts of water, it'd be a problem. If you use a lot, it might not be chilled enough.
Also, are you REALLY getting a good enough 'bargain', from the site you're looking at? We found it not worth the hassle - rather have a new fridge & dent it or break it ourselves!!

I have a fridge with a water dispenser but you do need to fill it manually, the big American style usually need to be plumbed inI haven't got one!0

For the type that needs plumbing, you dont need a plumber to do it. I done ours myself (yes I am a woman). It should come with its own kit and feeds off you water main under the sink, it has a pipe which clamps on to the copper mains pipe and when you twist it, it makes its own hole ready for the water to feed out into for the fridge.
Not a very good description i know but it really is easy to do!Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day; teach that person touse the Internet and they won't bother you for weeks.:D0 -

Hi, another newb here (but long lurker
) with water line connection troubles.
I have the Samsung RS21DCNS, and it's manual is so confusing as it skips between the interior model and exterior model.
I have the exterior model, and under that description, although it doesn't mention the clamp method (as above), can that still be used? It only mentions connecting to a water tap. Whereas for the interior model, it mentions both the tap and clamping method.
Surely either could be used?

ooh, don't confuse me! lol
I'm hoping to buy the RS21DCNS next week, and thought I'd just be able to swap over easily:rolleyes:

My advice would be, don't.
They are fraught with problems, there's even a thread in here that's over 5 pages long with RS21 issues if memory serves and we get issues on a daily basis on UK Whitegoods with those machines. So much so that these and the LG ones prompted the creation of this article.
