AP Markers

What are the chances of having AP markers removed or changed?
We have defaulted accounts which will drop off over the next year and have two other accounts with full payment history (ie no payments missed!) which have been paid as agreed for years. There is still a balance to pay but these AP markers will mean these will show for another six years even after the account is settled. Beginning to wish we had gone for a default at least then we could continue to pay without it affecting our credit reports!

You could complain and quote the ICO default guidelines about not being in a worse position than someone making no attempt to pay.

Have your payments been constant throughout the DMP?

What do you pay v the contracted minimum.

Paying £20 against debt of £5279 paid off £919. Cant remember what the contracted minimum should be (it's that old!)
Started snowballing with 14 debts now 7 left but all at 0 %

    Assuming a 2.5% min payment per month. That's ts £20 v £125.

Complain in writing. State you should be defaulted. See what they say. Can refer to FOS if rejected.

Are these the old guidelines not the new 4 principles of data protection as they rejected my complaint on the use of ar makers

Forgot to add - yes payments have been maintained regularly.

I checked back on hubbys' Arrangement to pay on Noddle and it actually has been changed from AR to up to date (and has been for the past 16 months!) so can live with that as time goes on all the markers will update to green!!

So just need to follow up mine with a letter to the DCA - will keep you posted when and if anything happens!

Success!!! Spoke to a guy in the Barclaycard Complaints department and he checked back and said I was defaulted in May 2009. Which means they have been reporting to the likes of Experian and Equifax incorrectly. He will check my files on Monday with the three main companies and correct them which means it should drop off next year :j
But because of their mistake they would be giving me £50 for the mistake/inconvenience!! :j:j:j:j

Well I've had the £50 compensation and on checking my credit files today the amendments have been made. So all is on track to drop off next June :T
