Hi, first post in this forum so apologies if this has been asked before. I have searched but no recent threads
I had a missed payment for a gym membership about two years ago for about £30. It was a genuine mistake of cancelling the DD before the last payment was taken. I then moved house and they were unable to locate me for a payment. My debt was passed onto a debt collection agency.
Eventually the new tenants of my previous flat redirected my mail, I phoned up the gym, explained the situation and settled the debt (plus costs) over the phone.
I had always assumed this would create a black mark against my name when it came to credit check but having checked all three agencies there is no record of it. . . is this normal and does that mean I have "got away with it"?

Not every type of account allows reporting to credit reference agencies.
It would have said if did in the terms and conditions.:beer:0
