I agree about the battery life. I tried two of these from Currys when they had them at £24.99. I couldn't believe how poor they were so I took them back to the shop as faulty. Fortunately I got my money back and reverted to my OFA7552 which works well but looks increasingly old fashioned these days. I think the Harmony remotes from Logitech look good but I guess that is because they resemble my Tivo peanut.

I will give a clue "plus 2.4ghz sender Dixons in store"

They are in store my friend.

BTW just took my Kameleon back because even though it was good it would not work my Humax PVR. I used the learning facility, it was accepted but wouldnt do anything.

The battery life is not brilliant compared to other remote controls, but I have not found it to be as bad as I have read. I find that a set of alkaline batteries lasts a couple of months, but I now use rechargeables and just swap them as and when.

The problems with most universal remote controls is that they look cheap and nasty and if you own anything odd, they don't work with it.

At least with the Kameleon it looks different and it can be made to work just about anything, including all those odd but important buttons.

With the 4-1 Kameleon you can turn off the motion sensor and reduce the illumination a bit (check the instruction book). This will make the batteries last a lot longer.
I bought one the last time they dropped to £24.99 and it has been fine since doing the above.

Or of course you can always use rechargables as I do with my Denon 3805 remote - in which case you are reducing environmental damage too :)
