Mother in Law just rec'd DLA renewal forms. Was expecting PIP..

MIL was getting worried about her current DLA which runs out in October. Was expecting to be having to claim PIP and has recently been flaaping.

So in yesterdays post, her DLA renewal stuff came.

Is this normal?

I think it some areas, (I know this was the case where I am when I asked on here at the end of last year) those on DLA whose award is coming to an end, are still under DLA. PIP in those areas would only be for people who don't claim and now want to make a claim.

EDIT: How old is she? if she's over 65, then she can't claim PIP.

As Indie Kid said, PIP is being rolled out gradually. Whether a claimant gets DLA forms or is 'invited' to claim PIP depends on where they live - and their age as there are currently no plans to migrate anyone to PIP who was over 65 (64?) when the new benefit was introduced.

PIP is much delayed, and is being rolled out much slower than the government predicted.

Many areas are still sending out DLA firms, for renewal.

Unless I've read the above wrong, people whose DLA comes to an end, still make a DLA unless they're in the areas mentioned on the above link.
