It's curtains for me... hopefully!

Hello All,

I've just bought my first house, and have managed to get sufficient fabric for two pairs of curtains for just £3. Having made such a saving, I thought I'd splash out a bit and get ready-made curtains for my living room, but I don't know how much is a reasonable price.

The windows are: 237cm x 207cm and 170cm x 140cm; the curtains I'm thinking of getting would cost just under £100 for the pair, including tie-backs, and they're cotton and will be fully lined. So, do you think that's a reasonable price?

I think that's a reasonable price. I just got a pair of 228cmx228cm readymade lined curtains for £35 in Rosebys sale last week, they had previously been about £100!

No, not expensive, go for it :D . I must admit to a bit of a curtain fetish though (how strange that sounds..:o ) M&S often have good sale curtains & Laura Ashley too.
The only thing I'd say is that I have a stash of spare curtains I put up in a new place while I decide on colour scheme. Ikea do some super cheap (& long) ones & I've picked up charity shop & ebay ones too over the years. I often decide to do something totally differant once I get used to a new house/the light there. It's been an expensive lesson to learn but maybe I'm just very indecisive?

It sounds about normal for some places but shop around

We managed to get curtains for our huge bay windows in Au Natural for £20 -previously we had thought we would have had to pay over £150

It pays to look all over - IKEA too if you have one - a lot of their curtains come in a 3m drop with hemming tape to take them up (which even I managed to do!!) :D
