"Selina from Egg" as of 10 a.m. today assures me that the handling fee of 2% from Egg is only for new customers in May and onwards. It does not affect existing customers - yet!0

Phew, didn't think it would apply retrospectively! They would have had a hard time notifying me of new T&Cs (and for those to come into effect) before my Anniversary in June this. But it's nice to know that a should get a third crack of the egg in June 2007 without charges, fingers crossed.Cider Country Solar PV generator: 3.7kWp Enfinity system on unshaded SE (-36deg azimuth) & 45deg roof0 -
Yes Egg has introduced a 2% balance transfer fee on a 9 month 0%.
However 1. SBTs will still be possible for exisitng customers without a feeMartin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.

Does anyone else get the feeling that this move by the "white knight" Egg signals a real sea change in CC companies attitudes to BT 0% offers? I have read the article on whether the new charges being levied will end 'stoozing' and find Martin's arguments persuasive, but with Egg's changes does this not undermine them somewhat? Not that it won't stop me trying to Stooz...There may be no I in TEAM but there's a ME if you look hard enough!0

I think the only thing to do is to wait-and-see. Egg was the best card in the pack, and as of yet (by the looks of it) will still be for existing customers. If they change it for existing customers, then we might be looking at a sea change, or even a CC change.0

I picked up an Egg leaflet off the floor in the supermarket earlier today which makes no mention of the fee. It is not an application form as it directs readers to "Apply now at egg-insert.com". The website does not work (unless you put www in front of it - one mistake!) but when you finally get there you are on to the fees etc.
As the leaflet demonstrates savings against other suppliers and even highlights no annual fee as a feature, is this a loophole as surely they should include any relevant fees on the advertising material?
The leaflet is "The miracle diet fitness phoney" with a picture of a man in fitness gear and a blue band with the message "Don't get a raw deal, get a real deal. Get 0% and more with an Egg Card."
