Hello hope it's ok for me to join in :) It's still a work in progress as I need to use up the Summer Greens and Sweet Pointed Cabbage from the veg box, so far I have coleslaw planned for the cabbage.

    Meal Plan

Today - Roast shoulder of lamb with new potatoes, summer greens and wet garlic (from veg box), green beans which need using up and brocolli. Apricot Crumble for pudding with ice cream - using up some flours and almonds.
Mon - Leftover lamb, hummus, pitta bread and salad including sliced kohlrabi from veg box
Tues - Venison minute steak, salad, coleslaw and chips.
Weds - Pasta with Summer greens, mushrooms and sauce
Thurs - Risotto with wet garlic, and summer greens thinly sliced.
Fri - Goan fish curry (fish fingers for DS)
Sat - HM burgers, salad and chips.
Sun - Chicken breast and salad or slow cooked lamb shoulder steaks - still working on this, need a recipe.

Haven't made flatbreads in ages as making dough difficult with LOs, can I make dough in bread maker then make flatbreads?

What does ff stand for btw?

Yummy foods, might revisit for future meal plans ^_^

Flatbread in the bread machine is a very interesting idea, I think I may have to look into that, I love gyros but never have time to make flatbreads with 3 children underfoot!

I've used the bread machine for flatbreads as I have arthritis in my hands so kneading can be painful. Just use the dough cycle then, before it's risen portion it up and roll it out with a pin. I also have a 1970's Kenwood Chef and if I'm not feeling lazy this makes lovely bread dough.

    FF = from freezer :D

Haven't posted my menus for ages but have still been sticking to my plans during this time most of the time:

Plan goes from Sun - Sat:

S - Roast duck leg, new pots, green beans
    M - Bacon, eggs, chips & beans
T - Minced beef savoury pancakes (new SW recipe), new pots, green beans, cauliflower
W - France for day so probably scrambled eggs on toast
    T - Goan prawn curry/rice
F - Herby crumbed fish, chips & peas
    S - Pork Schnitzel, salad

Have most things in the freezer but need to buy some white fish and some pork escalopes. Plus some more salad (except lettuce which is growing in the garden!)

  • Hello!

Can I join in too? Been meal planning for a few weeks and have been generally sticking to it, but thought posting might make me even more likely to stick with it!

    My week started last Friday:

Friday: battered fish, chips & mushy peas, HM chocolate sponge with chocolate custard
Saturday: bargain sausages, oven chips, fried egg & beans (this was my stand by meal - ended up being out later than planned so moved all meals forward one day and had our emergency tea!)
Sunday: roast chicken, roast potatoes, broccoli, peas, sweetcorn, green beans & gravy - was delicious (even if I say so myself!). Made stock for later in week too.
Monday: Curry, rice & naan bread FF - work day so something quick
Tuesday: Jacket potato, tuna mayo & salad - including homegrown rocket! Our first harvest so very excited!
Wednesday: Chicken hash & Yorkshire pudding, using LO chicken & stock made on Sunday
Thursday: Chicken pie, new potatoes & mixed vegetables, again using LO chicken & stock.

Specially got a slightly larger chicken so I could make loads of extra meals out of it, saves loads of money. My record so far is 15 portions from one average sized chicken! I'm sure I could get even more if I made soup.

Another change to the plan already!!!

My sister is coming to visit tomorrow and we're going off to France on Wednesday so am changing the plan by swapping Tuesday and Friday dinners - so prawn curry tomorrow and crispy mince pancakes on Friday (haven't got enough mince to make an extra crispy pancake but can stretch the prawn curry using some cooked prawns which I'll just put in at the end so there will be a mix of king prawns and little cooked prawns!)
