How to repay WTC overpayment?

Hi,
Quick question:I have received a couple of letters from HMRC saying that they've made an overpayment. It says that the overpayment is due now, directly to them, but it does not advise how it should be paid. Looking at their website it is possible to pay online by BACS, however i'm unsure if you need to call them first to confirm this. I'm trying to avoid calling them due to the phone charges, but will do if this is the only route to go. It also says that you must use your tax credit code if paying by BACS, but the only reference on my paperwork is my NI number - is that what they mean?
Please can anybody advise?
I wish I had never applied for WTC, they have been far more hassle and stress than they are worth. Just hoping to get this sorted ASAP so that I can stop worrying about it!
Thanks

Did any of the letters you received have a payment slip?
Do you have the reference number?
If you do not, call them on 0345 302 1429 (free if you have a minutes allowance on your mobile or landline)0 -
You'll probably get another letter soon with a payslip or instructions on how to pay. They'll let you spread it over a year if you want (or longer if you can show hardship).0

Thank you, i'll await another letter.0
