What do people use coconut oil for? I used it on my face, but I found it very greasy.

I tried it on my hair once as a deep conditioning treatment...it was a disaster! Wouldn't wash out for days :(

It is a pain to wash out (try several shampoos, and try applying it first without wetting the hair again) but it is one of the only oils that can actually be absorbed by the hair so is one of the few that makes a really massive difference.

    So there's;
    • Hair mask
    • Make up remover or OCM
    • For shaving
    • As a body moisturiser
    • Can mix with sugar or sea salt and use as a body scrub
    • (Ahem) You can also use it as lube as long as you're not using condoms (degrades latex)
    No more goo hoarding!

I love poundland for hair and beauty! I got some keratin conditioner last week which has really made a difference to my dry bleached hair. Plus I love their rimmel, Revlon and sally Hansen nail polishes!
Many thanks to all who contribute on MSE :)

Dove soap bars, the Shea butter & vanilla ones. I paid £2 for a pack of 4, and they're lovely. I prefer them to shower gel now, and they last forever. Bonus, they make my bathroom smell absolutely divine!

I second the Makeup Revolution recommendation, their eyeshadows are lovely. And their kajal liner is the best liner I've ever used (I prefer a smudged effect). Their baked blushes are awesome too, very pigmented.

I also use the Collection illuminating concealer - fantastic.

Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation is the best I have ever used. It's not cheap-cheap at around £10, but it's often on offer.

I also really rate Superdrug's own brand face products, in particular the hot cloth cleanser and the "simply pure" range.

    Excellent idea for a thread!

I love Superdrug vitamin E all over body cream. It's really light, sinks in fast and makes my skin feel nice and soft. It's light enough for my kids to use as well, and doesn't smell too perfumed.
I think it cost £2.99 for a nice big pot.
Superdrug own brand shower gels, 2 for £1.50. I find them similar to original source.

I use it as a hair mask or sometimes a lip balm when my lips are really sore but also for me its too greasy!

Instead of using argan or neem oils on my hair I buy Sainsbury's SO organic Extra Virgin olive oil 500ml £2.50 which lasts ages, smells fruitly olive and works on my fine hair really well. Zico coconut water 1L £3.50 Sainsbury's (chilled) to rinse hair as well.

Poundland has Revlon and Sally Hansen nail polishes £1

    99p Stores has 200 Johnson's cotton buds for 99p

Last week ASDA had an offer on L'Oreal online only.

Can't post link but Pure Magic Minerals are as good as expensive mineral foundations. You can get them on Amazon or Ebay, or buy direct from the seller.

Great quality oil, it's the one I use on salads ;)
