13 year old come to stay Update

Since I last wrote an update..

We went to her 6 week review at her school, they were extremely pleased with her and her behavior. 6 more weeks and then they will put her on their register full time :j
There have been a couple of issues bt nothing major.
Worse case scenario if she doesnt keep doing well at school they will send her back to a behavioral school & she wont be allowed in another main stream one.

We had fostering assessment on 22nd May, very happy with how shes progressed since she had been here. The missing episodes ect had stopped although the now 25yr old was still in the picture.
They agreed we could foster her long term :j

Week later she disappears, calls us up an hour after she was supposed to be in...shes crying, can we collect her. My hubby goes to get her she never showed.
9pm the next day she handed herself in and they brought her home...with scratches & bruises down her face and on arms and legs :mad:
I went mad at her telling her we were worried and I had been to the mans house looking for her and that put us in danger ect ect.
I also chatted to her and she agreed to make a statement to the police about the assult, bt would not tell them she had a sexual relationship.

Today they have called me and said hes been arrested and charged with 6 convictions. Assult, kidnap, Sex with a minorr..... I just burst into tears.

I know shes still going to be a nightmare bt with this issue out of the way the future looks bright

My 2 girls are still as they have always been and thankfully are showing no signs of the waywardness my cousin does. In fact shes copying my two.

The only thing that worries me now is her sisters, they come to stay and they are so filthy and neglected I have voiced my concerns to SS, just have to keep telling myself that I cant save the world....

Overall things are ok

Arrested at last, that is good. What a shame it happened the way it did though.

No, you can't save the world but you are doing well so far.

Oh thank god.

I am SO sorry she had to go through that, but I am so glad he is finally being charged. I have been horrified this was allowed to happen frankly.

Of all the updates on Mse, which none of us are owed, this one feels.....hard won.

Your grit awes me. You are helping improve the world a little, not just for this girl,( and her sisters) but for the people she will meet and influence in her life too.


I hope your children remain robust as they were. You must be grea parents to have made such in roads.

Much love and admiration is being sent your way.. I am sad that she came home in that state but it may just have been the wake up call she needed. Hopefully she will make the most of what is left of her childhood doing the normal things teenage girls do.

Thanks to you OP a young vulnerable girl is safe and being looked out for and well cared for. She can look forward to a brighter future because of all your efforts and total commitment to her. You should be so proud of yourself, well done :T

OP, congratulations on the difference you are making and the progress she is achieving.

Glad to hear they've thrown the book at him. I don't want to be unnecessarily pessimistic, but you should probably be prepared for the possibility that she will feel remorse at what has happened to him, blame herself, want to contact him to apologise, want to withdraw her evidence etc.

If he denies the charges then it will be 6 months minimum before trial; it's likely to cause her extra stress which might manifest itself in some further behavioural problems.

This might all not come to pass, but if you're alert for it then hopefully you'll be better placed to deal with it. Might also be discussing with SS whether school should be informed, to make allowances if there are more hiccups?
