Such a shame that none of them deliver the advertised mpg though......
I used to believe what was stated in the advertising blurb and then get very disappointed when I got nowhere near that. Why can't they just say what you would get in the "real world" instead of giving false hope?Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -

As these are the same car as the Up, the differences may say more about the drivers.
We should also chuck the i10 in at 45.0 mpg for the latest version and 43.1 for the older one. The new i10 seems a serious contender for best city car.
I drive a Seat Mii and can confirm what others have said except for the oil consumption, which hasn't been an issue for me.
I get ridiculous mpg on longer journeys - recently did a 30 mile trip and it showed 72 mpg on the outward leg and 70 mpg coming home. Most of the time I buzz around town and it's brilliant at that.
3-cylinder engines tend to sound a bit rougher than 4-cyl but I quite like the sound. The gearbox can be sticky on mine (12 reg)but I understand the later ones are better.0 -

Difference is the Up is only listed for the 1.0 75ps for some reason
the figures you list are from the 60ps version.
And how about the "new" Vauxhall Adam brand new design = 39.3mpg!
That's why they have to do the Official MPG in a lab to be consistent - what fuel figures do you get in mid winter 4 people on board with lights and heater/AC on crawling around town?0 -
Let me run this past you.
Before she went into a care home I used take my elderly mother shopping, trips to the doctor etc.
I drive a Merc SL convertible and Mum was struggling with the low seats so told me to go and buy a car she could get in and out of, she'd buy it.
I looked at all sorts including 4x4 for the ride height along with the usual small cars mentioned here. I went to a Fiat dealer to look at the 500.
On the forecourt was this hideous orange thing, a Fiat Qubo, I didn't know such a thing existed, I couldn't remember ever seeing one before.
It was easy to get in and out of, it had the dualogic gearbox, I haven't driven a manual in decades and it had loads of room in the back, it's basically a converted van.
It has air-con, bluetooth, electric windows etc. and wasn't expensive. It's £20 a year to tax and only costs me £98 a year to insure!
I bought it.
I've tried to hate it but can't. Round town it's returning just under 49mpg no matter how I drive it and on a run quite a bit more, I'd guess in the high 50s or low 60s. I've not checked the long journey mpg as fuel ecconomy isn't something that you worry about when you have a big V8.
It's comfortable to drive, the 1.3 diesel is surprisingly responsive you can get loads of stuff in the back, even more with the seats folded and the boot floor is low so you don't have to lift your shopping, just slide it in. Back doors slide open which I've found really good in carparks when loading shopping or people.
All my friends and family thought I'd gone mad, now I'm on everyone's speed dial, trips to the airport, fetch a dishwasher etc. I've even had a double height fridge freezer in there without any problem.
After a while even the looks start to grow on you and you'll never lose it in a car park.
What started out as something I thought I'd only use to drive Mum about has become my daily drive and made itself indipensible. In fact I shall have a another when I change it.
Oh yes, I nearly forgot, it was cheap £6,600 with 9000 mile on the clock.One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0
