Credit Card Payment Dates

So I owe £396.42 on my Vanquis Card. I go online and pay the amount in full on their website (via evanquis) and it takes circa 3 working days to hit the account. If I spend on the card in the interim will this mean in effect the total balance will not be cleared and I will be liable for interest or will the payment be back dated and my interest free 56 days will start again?

As long as you pay the statement in full (and have done so in previous months), then you won't pay interest. Further spending will appear on net month's statement.

The problem is the statement has not yet been generated. I have been paid and want to pay off the card so it goes down to zero so the interest free 56 days starts again. Just worried that if I spend before the payment actually hits the account I will get charged.

The 56 days interest free doesn't start again when you make a payment.

It refers to if you make a purchase immediate your statement is generated, you would have 56 days if you paid it on the due date after your next statement.

Make a payment now if it makes you feel better or you're worried you will spend the cash. But you will still need to pay the statement in full when it is generated to avoid being charged interest.

It's much better to follow the payment dates they advise than make up your own. It invariably ends in disaster.
