Cars for disabled and work at home for me

Hi,

My husband had a 5 bypass surgery back on Oct. 30, 2008. His heart stopped for 10 minutes and because of that is partially blind with other disabilities. Our car is in need of repairs but can't afford them. We just put $475 worth of repairs into it and still doing the same thing that it was. Need a car. Was wondering if there is a way to get a car with my husband being disabled. He needs a van that is easy to get in and out of.

I've been laid off my job since July 10, 2010. Almost 4 years now. I've been looking at the work at home jobs. Don't want to leave my husband home alone because he has fallen several times lately.

Can you please help us? Thank you!

If he is entitled to the higher rate of DLA then I believe he can lease a car (with suitable adapt ions for him) through the motability scheme.
Without change there would be no butterflies
If you don't like it, change it.
    .
The comments and advice I give are what I believe to be correct
My phone likes to use full stops instead of spaces sometimes, I type too quickly and it would take forever to go back and change them all, so please excuse them!

    Are you in the UK?

Entitlement to higher rate mobility would enable you to use your DLA payment towards a car.
  • Does your local authority offer some kind of community alarm scheme? The ones where you would wear a panic buzzer type thing round your neck so if you fall you can call for help. Perhaps this would allow you to go out to work?

As for the car, unless you are on higher rate DLA or PIP mobility then there are no other schemes available to obtain a vehicle. If you are on one of the aforementioned benefits then you can lease a car from here:

if i had known then what i know now

I was wondering that as the OP has quoted costs in $ rather than £
