UKCPS PCN current advice 2014 please help?

Options
Hi - I'm posting regarding a PCN from UKCPS - I was in hospital waiting to be called in for an X-Ray so wasn't able to go and top up my ticket and in the end overstayed by 15 mins - now they are asking for £100!!! A bit over the top to say the parking was £1/hour so they've only really'lost' 25 pence in revenue!

I've read around The Internet conflicting ways of dealing with this - it seems to be 50/50 either ignore or write an appeals letter but some of the advise is a few years old. I'm concerned that by writing an appeals letter it's like admitting some liability?

Can someone advise on the current thinking?

Many Thanks

Read the NEWBIES THREAD. It has not been advised to ignore in England/Wales since Oct 2012.
If you don't appeal, you will end up with a great deal of hassle. Whereas if you do appeal you will get it sorted. Follow the advice carefully.

It's 100% advice now NOT to ignore. As well as following Dee's advice above, have you taken this up with the hospital?
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

If you are outside of England or Wales then the advice of ignore stands, but you should be appealing if you are within the above or if the vehicle is hired/leased/company to take it away from them.

Make complaints to the hospital and PALS over this, this deliberate harassment of the ill and their visitors is a disgrace

I really thought I had, when I wrote the 'Private parking ticket? NEWBIES read these FAQs first' sticky thread. :)
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
