Maestro card

Hi All

Looking to book some internal flights online via flysta and will be charged 18 pounds if i use my cc or dc, if i can find a maestro card, it is free! Now my question is, is a meastro card the same as any pre paid cc?

No, not many banks issue Maestro cards anymore, they've mainly been replaced with Visa Debit cards.

Switch was replaced with maestro which was replaced with Visa debit, you might find pre paid cards that are maestro/have the logo on it.

System

Clydesdale Bank (including Yorkshire Bank) issue Maestro on their basic and savings accounts plus can issue them on their standard current accounts too.

Some prepaid cards are are also still Maestro - look for a card number starting 6759

Not necessarily, although Visa does dominate.

Just use your card anywhere you see the MasterCard or Maestro Acceptance Mark – depending upon your own card type.

Maestro is basically the equivalent of Visa Electron now.

It was relegated in the UK after Switch rebranding.
Solo was also merged into Maestro.

The MasterCard equivalent to Visa Debit is Debit MasterCard

Isn't there the rule now that they can only charge 50p for debit card transactions and 1.2% for CC transactions?
