Hansome90 - I'm not very good with technology. Its not the outer-glass layer. Its the picture that's gone. The screen was flickering with a green line going across it.

    Paid by credit card??

A friend dropped her ipad in the road and cracked the screen a few years ago. She took it to Apple who wanted a large sum to repair it and/or offered her a refurbishment that also seemed expensive. Instead she went to a local shop. She had to pay a deposit and got ripped off so I'm not sure I would trust sending it off through ebay, nor Bris would I feel confident trying to fix it myself.

I will see what Apple say tomorrow and may also speak to the computer guy that fixes our work computers next time he's in.

Try taking it to an Apple Genius Bar in an Apple store. My iPod died after a few months and they replaced it for me with no quibble, even though I hadn't purchased it from them. Worth a try at least.
