And i have tried discussing it with him. We either argue or it is not understood.
Im gonna go against the trend but why should he care? You might be obsessed. Whos to say you are right? Hobbies dont have to cost. If you worry about money constantly then theres a problem.0 -
You`ve shifted a huge amount of debt well done :j

We bought a house because a family member died and left us some money. We pay out less to a mortgage than in rent so it made sense to do that.
He isn't sabotaging in any way but just has no interest. I must add the reason we are out of debt is because I took it away from him. But as a husband he should take some responsibility for running the home including the finances.
He says he wants to do things like the bathroom, kitchen, go on holiday etc but does nothing to help the saving.
Following on from this though - I sat down with hubby and explained. I want him to manage the finances with me. Then we are more of a team, it helps keep the marriage balanced and in case something awful were to happen to me (not an irrational thought - the relative who left money was his brother who was exactly my age and just never woke up one day).
Anyway, he has sat down and is trialling YNAB. We are going to see how it works. I just need his help to also take the pressure off. It has been a better weekend for it. We will see... xxDebt August 2009 - £30,525.50Debt Paid February 2011
