Need help with renting a car abroad
I want to rent a car in a couple of days in Spain.
I've had a look at Auto Europe / Record having used them before. I've put in three days and they only want £21. The rental also included this information:
Zero Excess Package Includes:
Value Added Tax (VAT)
Liability Insurance
Fire Insurance
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) - zero excess
Theft Protection (TP) - zero excess
Unlimited Miles
First thing is £21 seems very cheap, I know they'll charge me for a tank of fuel when I pick the car up. I think insurance is part of the Zero Excess Package. Also, I know they'll earmark €600-800 on my card for damage not covered. Have I got this right?
Will Liability Insurance protect me should I have an accident where I'm at fault?
As Collision Damage Waiver has zero excess does this mean I don't need to purchase excess insurance?

Does the quote include the 'Zero excess package' though?
You will probably still be liable for glass (usually can be covered by additional payment) and clutch (normally always your risk - a few unlucky people been caught out with this so check it seems Ok before driving too far)0 -
just remember 'if it seems too good to be true - it usually is'.
How much do Europcar or one of the other mid-range hire co's want?
Or how about Hertz with the AA discount code if you're a member? The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -
I have used Auto Europe from Iceland - Italy with no problem. I think I once got excess cover in the UK before going abroad.0
