This is really getting me down, i keep reading things about household insurance etc being higher cos your a BR.
Today i went to pay cash for my Next catalogue ( a freind ordered some stuff and gave me the £56 of the order today) took the money to the post office - i can't write cheques anymore as just a basic bank account, and was charged £2.60 extra.
Having a bad day and its not improving:mad:

I know, these little things are a pain in the ***.

I just have to remind myself that they are peanuts compared to all the interest and penalty charges I was paying before BR. And that's peanuts again compared to the total debt I had.

Sometimes it is hard to see it that way though.

That's the way I look at it too, fermi. I have a jar in the kitchen with loose change - it's so heavy I can barely lift it, so I use some of the change to make up the difference every time I have to get a postal order or have to pay to use an ATM because I haven't got a bus pass to allow me to get to one that won't charge me. When I think of how much was going out on my debts pre-BR, the extra £1-2 a couple of times a month at most feels like pence by comparison. :)
  • Aw thats the way to look at it, thanks.
Just having a bad day and can't seem to see beyond my nose at the moment

Oh, you can swap with mine if you want. I couldn't get my usual hayfever tablets, & my nose feels like it's been running for weeks. If my top lip gets any wetter, it will have water lilies growing on it & ducks dipping for bread. :D
  • Ok Ok you've just made my day seem really good after that comment. you really don't paint a pretty picture lol

It carries on after discharge too wdiag. A 6 year struggle coming up I think and I'll get back to you in 2013 if it changes

Ah, but that's the difference. You see it as a struggle, I see it as a reduction in costs. :) If I'm paying the £2 or so a month in 6 years' time, that's still a heck of a lot less time & money than I'd have been spending on my debts, which I'd have had strangling me for a minimum of 12 years. By the time I take into account how much money my debts would have cost me to service, plus the time I'd spend on the phone, dealing with letters, sending letters out & worrying, the £2pm feels like nothing considering I was trying (& usually failing) to find about £500pm for debts pre-BR. I realise it's not the same for everyone though. :)

Good point, well put, as usual. So its not really that bad a day for you after all, is it sweet?

There's nothing pretty about a top lip that feels like it could get to your dinner before the rest of your mouth. My nostril area has swollen, but I have to wait for a particular medication as I'm either allergic to so many of the others, or they don't work for me. They hope to have it in stock next week, but too much longer without it & I'll be resembling a duck-billed platypus. :o

That's ok, they're cute. Try Snowfire if you can find it. It's rarer than hen's teeth these days but independant pharmacies sometimes stock it
