I apologise in advance if this question has been raised before.

If you purchase items on your credit card via PayPal, are you still covered by the s.75 protection?

I seem to have read this somewhere but are unable to track the answer down.

Thank you.

A recently updated MSE article also says "no"

Although, admittedly, if you expand the section there is a lot of wishy-washy, it might be possible, but will be hard to make stick, uncommittal comments.

.. which, although it has some benefits, falls well short of the 6 years time limit available for s75 claims

The blurb says no because it's a third-party payment provider. Personally, I think section 75 should be looked at urgently because it brings into question most website payments such as Worldpay, Google Payments, Amazon Payments, and the list goes on and on. All of them are third-party payment providers. The only time it isn't is when a retailer processes their own payments.
