Ravenheat boiler, repair or replace?

Our Ravenheat CSI85 has just stopped working. Last month it also stopped working but in that case it was a simple (and relatively cheap) case of replacing the ignition and its cable.
It's now something related to the liquid part of the boiler. Possibly the pressure relief valve or the heat exchanger.. not sure (boiler fan starts, gas lights OK, then some airey whooshy noise that almost sounds like the fan, water pressure goes up from 1 to 2.5+bar very quickly, some rattly clanky noises, then it all cuts out. the heat exchanger gets very hot).

The boiler is just coming up to 10 years old, and some would say that's a reasonable time for a boiler, especially for one that is not known for its solidness (from other reviews on the web).

So is it best to bite the bullet now and invest in a Worscester or similar, or start pouring money into this one to keep it running? I'm of the opinion that a new boiler is best.

Until you know what is wrong, you can't decide. Get the plumber back to diagnose.

Due to the fact that it has needed something replacing last month, now something replacing this month (plus the fact that ravenheat are crap boilers) I would bite the bullet and get a new one fitted.

I wouldn't go for Worcester bosch personally. They are over rated and there are plenty of other boilers out there that are just as good if not better for a few hundred quid cheaper.

Thanks for the advice all. We've had our first new boiler quote in... happened to start with the local energy supplier (I thought I'd get them in and laugh at their quote). 3.5K ha ha (for a worc. junior 28i).
They quoted a new flue (which is vertical and goes up through the roof) which I can believe. They want to give us a 'free' 7 day wireless timer. I already have one that I intend to keep using!
Local suppliers in over the weekend..

If it's a pump, that's 80 quid, plus plumbers time (cos I don't fancy doing it), plus anything else he might think is wrong. If I can get a quote for under 2k then I'll be a lot happier.
