Normal Post Or Signed For?

I had a tube of cream which has sold for £22. I had put it on as a buy it now and it said I would post it 2nd class signed for.
The buyer has messaged me saying just send it normal post and pack it as small as possible so it goes through the letterbox as she won't be in. The item will go through as a large letter so that is fine.
Would you send it signed for or just normal post or cancel the sale? I've messaged the buyer and he/she has said just send it normal post.
Could someone assist please and thanks in advance.

It's not up to the buyer to decide how you send your item!! If the listing said 2nd class signed for then that's how you should send it. I can understand that she may live quite a way from a post office to collect but if it was clearly stated on the listing she should accept it sent as signed for. I know most buyers are decent but you will leave yourself open to an INR claim if you don't send signed for. Someone specifically asking you not to send it that way would ring alarm bells for me.I had a tube of cream which has sold for £22. A proof of postage certificate gives the sender £20 of cover. I sometimes ask if a seller will send normal post not signed for as collecting things is a pain but try to do so before bidding and make it clear if I will not bid, or not bid as high, unless the answer is yes.But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

It's up to you. Personally, I wouldn't be sending an item I have advertised as signed for to someone who asks to have it send unsigned - that should be arranged before the make their bid.0

Thank you so much all.
I know this was a bit of a "no brainer" question but I had to ask as I normally make the dumb decision and then get caught out by a sneaky buyer.
There are other people selling the same item for cheaper and not signed for, so it's given me the willies.
I will message and say I will only send it signed for or I can end the sale (whatever the terminology is) and tell her to buy from one of the other buyers who is selling it cheaper and will post normally. I might run it past eBay chat first and see what they advise.
Thanks again all.0 -
Don't bother with eBay chat. It is YOUR listing.0

I always greet such requests as a scam.
Why not just buy elsewhere?0
