Abbey stalling, how can I push them?

 I wrote to abbey requesting details of charges on the 3rd of March. since then they seem to be trying to stall my claim.
I did not recieve the transaction list until the 26th April, to make up for this delay they refunded the £10 data protection charge. I wrote to them on the 9th May requesting a refund of the £1790.77 for charges plus interest. Since then I have recieved three letters saying they are looking into it. I recieved one of these letters this morning saying it has been eight weeks since they started to look at my claim, and they are making progress (what is the process they go through, or is it just stalling), but if I don't want to wait, I should direct my complaint to the financial ombudsman. I don't want to complain about the delays, I want to move onto the next stage and file in court for the charges to be repaid, is there a letter I can send limiting the amount of time they can investigate? Any help or advice gratefully recieved

If you have not done so already send the letter telling them that you are going to be taking them to court http://www3.moneysavingexpert.com/files/bank_charges_templates/letter4.rtf

Write and state that you are now aware, and they have been advised in your first correspondence, that the charges are unlawful and repayable. That given this the matter requires their lawful attention. State that their response is required to all of your communications as they may be necessary for court documentation. This should ensure they reply past their 'final response'. :)
