Hi, anyone else flat purchasing at moment in London?

How you getting on? Right now I've had all val and survey done, got the mortgage offer and awaiting on vendors who are still looking!! Having damp survey done too

Really really hope light end of tunnel soon, on plus side putting more money away each month

    Good luck.

I'm a couple of weeks away from exchanging I think. Just need 5-6 final answers to solicitor enquiries and I'm good to go.

I've been putting money aside as well while I've been waiting. Should have about 5k to start decorating when I finally move in.

After the seller pulled out around the same time on my last attempt at buying, I'm a little nervous, but the whole process has been rather smooth, if slow.

Hope it goes well for you but I wouldn't spend any more money on surveys etc until your vendors have found a place unless they have agreed to move into rented if they can't find anything in time.

Definitely keep putting money away. My flat purchase is only now getting close to exchange and completion and it's been over 14 months since I first had the offer accepted. However in the meantime I've managed to save enough to start doing all the work I need to do on the flat immediately. Alternatively if the sale falls through I can still afford to buy properties in the area even though prices have risen thanks to the savings I've still been stashing away.

It's been hard but there wasn't much on the market that suited me and was within my price range. However I also took the risk of moving into the property and renting it while the sale has been sorted out and at least know I've chosen a good place with nice neighbours.

Mine's taken so long due to a loft conversion being done without the freeholders permission or 'owning' the loft space so it has taken a long time to sort out and the price has increased but luckily it was never at the top of my budget and I kept saving throughout.
