I have been reading some of your successes over G24. I too have a prob, but mine has gone further than some so I'm worried about the out come.
I received a PCN for over staying at a store, I did not see the notices but a week later was shocked to receive the letter.
I sent my evidence in along with other receipts to prove my case. Then then they said didn't receive anything and to appeal to POPLA.
Feeling confident, as I knew I went shopping and had the receipt plus knowing the fee will increase if they refused, I went ahead.
To my absolute horror, POPLA the REFUSED it!!
Not knowing what to do I called POPLA but there was nothing they could do. Then I called G24 and after protesting that I had sent the proof they finally said that the only proof they had was a receipt for another day. ( I sent proof for the day in Q plus receipts for the following day to prove I was decorating)
I said that they did not give me a chance to re-send the receipt. They said that at point 4 of the email they sent stated I had a chance to sent but it was far down the letter and the first thing I saw was about the next step to appealing to POPLA. Which was refused.
I am so upset about the whole thing as it become a big unnecessary mess. I went back on the web site to re-send the receipt but it says the that my time has run out and need to pay the money. Please help,
What should I do??

It was indeed an unnecessary mess by managing to lose at POPLA. What a waste of time for the sake of Googling about POPLA first.Feeling confident, as I knew I went shopping and had the receipt plus knowing the fee will increase if they refused, I went ahead.

So what happened when you complained to the retailer?

HTH please read the link and complain to the retailer then post a reply telling us they've cancelled it. We'll be happy to read about your success next week!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Mad-cat, firstly please start your own thread as it helps to keep different issues separate.
Firstly, you need to complain to the store, they often have the ability to cancel PCN's.
As you kind of wasted your POPLA appeal (they're not interested in mitigation), you have 3 options:
1) Pay the amount
2) Send a letter to the parking company, with a copy of the receipt asking them to reconsider the appeal (letters are better than phone calls)
3) Do nothing and hope that G24 don't take the matter further0 -
it would have been far better if you had NO CONFIDENCE at all and come here for help as soon as you got this PCN
then your popla appeal would have had the necessary legal arguments in it and you would have won, the payment tickets would have been irrelevant AND you should have kept the originals and sent in copies only
it clearly states on the popla website that mitigation is not allowed , so legal arguments only
the original receipts would be kept and used at court if it got that far
over-confidence is a bad thing when standing in quicksand and not having the knowledge to get out safely
do as advised in the previous posts
I have asked crabman to split this thread for you0 -
@Mad-cat
G24 do not "do" court.
Could you clarify exactly what happened initially with G24. Did you formally appeal to them and they then declined it - providing you with a POPLA code? Or did they say that you didn't supply any evidence and therefore had had no appeal? Your account is not entirely clear. Nor is it clear that POPLA refused a formal appeal to them or whether they wouldn't become involved.
As a general rule when dealing with such issues you should keep all communications in written form either email or letter. Do not ever rely on phone calls to resolve issues unless they are confirmed in writing. My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -
I've moved the above posts into a new thread, welcome to MSE :hello:0
