If you are going the full distance to invesment classification, then I suggest you read up on the FSA's Retail Distribution Review (RDR). I wasnt joking when I said 15 more exams as Cefa will not be enough under the new proposals for anything other than simple advice. So, you may want to factor in the higher qualifications into your career plans.

    Hi Dunstonh,

Thanks for your reply. Yes in the long term I do indeed want to offer full investment advice, but think the best option is to get a good couple of years within mortgages and then look to study further.

What examinations would be required over and above CeFA? how does one go about getting these?

    Thanks in advance

look on the CII website you will see the diploma exams and the ones above that. The diploma exams are what used to be known as advanced FPC.
