My brother often uses (and complains about) Arriva buses ... they arriva whenever the hell they like.0

First bus are so bad at time keeping, I started walking.
It takes half an hour to get to work and a bit longer to get home because its uphill but as buses were so unreliable, somedays it would take longer to wait around for bus and walk from the not so near bus stop than it does just walking.
It took some getting used to and there are days I don't want to walk,:D but its better for me and cheaper.63 mortgage payments to go.
Zero wins 2016 😥0 -
Terrible "service" in huddersfield....filthy buses, rude staff, constantly late or just don't bother turning up at all.0

True, but the 66 (and the other routes that go to our area) are very frequent. I suppose that's a benefit of living relatively near to the city centre. In any case, I can typically get 4-10 5/44/66s an hour depending on what day of the week it is.
Drivers are ok, the price for a 10 week ticket is *fantastic*, other passengers, cleanliness and overheating, now those aren't so good0 -
£60 is buttons. Buy a car if you want convenience and reliability.0

You'd need GPS tracking fitted to each bus, then the company can give a true picture of where your bus is. Having been a Bus driver for past 16 years or it will be on the 2nd June - I can say without doubt that poor maintenance is to blame in 80% of breakdowns. Some get involved in an accident - often caused by other vehicles pulling out from junctions, parking with little heed to fact that a bus is fast approaching. No not speeding. People think it's a bus - it's slow. Trust me the modern ones pick up speed easily. The ones I used to drive in Cambridge - now have GPS fitted & radios that alert drivers to holdups ahead if any. So the times posted on the electronic bus signs really should be accurate now. I loved my job, but due to ill health I cannot drive my car let alone a bus at present. Traffic commissioners do have powers to investigate missing buses. Early ones might be driver not getting up on time & there being no other spare driver who can do it. Not all routes are known by all.0
