can I claim ppi?

Took out a mortgage in 2000 and remortgaged in 2010. Am still currently paying two lots of PPI for both mortgages at £10.45 & £10.27 per month.
The main question I have is that as I was only 22 when my mortgage was taken out, my dad had to be a guarantor. My dad had never financially made any payments towards the mortgage. Do I have to get my dads permission to claim? Can I claim any PPI back at all.? My mortgage papers indicate my Ppi could have come off after one year. Am I too late?
Any help much appreciated.

You don't need anyone's permission to complain about mis-sold PPI. However, nothing you have said indicates that your PPI was in any way mis-sold.
If you are still paying two lots of PPI, then why haven't you cancelled one of them?

Find out what the PPI is first...phone and ask what it covers.

    No.

You have the right to complain about anything you like. However, most MPPI complaints fail. So, right to complain and likelihood of having a successful or valid complaint are different things.

Could be that the second mortgage was higher and a second policy was set up to cover the difference in repayment.
